The PTA has new recess equipment for the winning class!
The deadline for the first Box Tops contest of the school year is October 21 and the PTA has some new recess equipment for the class with the highest Box Tops total after the first deadline. Feel free to send Box Tops to school any time before the deadline. We will take them any way you send them (baggies or taped to a collection sheet). Remember to put the teacher's name on the bag or paper!
The Box Tops Clip & Sip will be on October 24 from 6:30-9pm. Email Amy Mindick-Walling at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to come and package thousands of Box Tops to be shipped. It's a great way to help the school, enjoy some wine and meet lots of Adams parents.
The Adams Book Fair is here!! From October 20-28, the Book Fair will be in the Adams Media Center. 50% of total sales comes back to Adams in the form of Scholastic Dollars to buy Scholastic books and teaching materials for classrooms and the library. Book Fair Family Night is on Friday, October 28....it is going to be an evening of books, food trucks, costumes and pirate fun! Barone Meatball Company & JAM Ice Cream will have food trucks in the parking lot if you're interested in purchasing dinner.
Reflections is a National PTA sponsored program that recognizes student achievement in the arts. The Program challenges students to create art inspired by a specific theme. This year's theme is "What Is Your Story?". Students can submit their unique interpretation of the new theme in any or all of the art categories: Dance Choreography - Videography – Musical Composition – Visual Arts – Poetry - Photography.
Participants' art will be collected in October and featured in our school gallery in November. All our artists will enjoy a special celebration in January and February in recognition of their work! For information or to participate, please email Amy Whitfield: email@example.com
Reflections Art Drop-off:
- Every Friday in October from 9-9:30 a.m. in the Library
- Each piece of art must have a completed entry form & follow all the rules.
- Be sure to write an Artist Statement (bottom portion of entry form) that explains how your art fits the theme: "What's Your Story?" Your Artist Statement is very important and represents over half of your score.
